About the speech & drama classes
Welcome to the 2018 syllabus for speech and drama classes. I hope that we have managed to include something for everyone. You will be assured of a warm welcome, whatever your age - so do have a go.

Please can I draw your attention to the fact that a copy of any 'Own Choice' pieces need to be sent to me by 1st February 2018. Please contact me if you need any further help. We look forward to seeing you in March.

  • Competitors in solo acting classes are reminded that in order to qualify for copyright indemnity, the title, author and publisher (if known) must be announced at the time of the performance.

Reading at Sight Classes
  • For these classes all books are available in paperback editions and may be obtained from Quinn's Bookshop in Market Harborough. (01858 432313)
  • At the beginning of each class our Adjudicator will choose the passage for reading aloud from the selected text. Competitors will be given a few minutes to study the passage before they are asked to read it.

Class 255 Group entertainment by 3 of more performers - open

  • Original Composition texts should be sent to the Speech Secretary by 1st February 2017.
  • Prize winning entries in these classes will be read at the discretion of the Adjudicator.

Class 262 Original Composition in Verse 16 years and over.

Class 263 Original Composition in Prose 15 years and under.
