Kettering & District Eisteddfod
Awards in all classes
  • Winners of each class receive a trophy, plaque or certificate as stated.
  • 2nd and 3rd places in each class receive certificates
  • Commended certificates are awarded to non prize winners gaining 84 marks or over
NB The adjudicators may choose not to award trophies or certificates in classes where, in their opinion, the required standard has not been met.

Special awards - speech & drama
The Churchill Award Awarded to the most promising competitor aged 11 years and under.
The Kathleen Howard Trophy Awarded to the best duologue or solo performance.
The Lawn Trust Cash Prize Awarded to the most promising competitor from Kettering and District aged 18 years and under.
The G M Riseley Award Awarded to a promising competitor in the 14yrs and under age group.
The Elsie Bicheno Award Awarded to the most promising competitor in the senior classes over 14 years.
The Jackson Cup Awarded for the performance that the adjudicator has most enjoyed.
A Poetry Anthology Awarded to a competitor in the 13+ age group to encourage a love of poetry. Presented in memory of Kathleen Read.
The Mr & Mrs H Price Trophy Awarded to the overall winner of the solo mime classes.
The Edna Hegarty Award Awarded to the overall winner of the Shakespeare classes.
The Kay (KD) Humfrey Memorial Award Awarded to the winner of the verse and prose speaking class for competitors aged 18 years and under.

Special awards - music
The G M Riseley Award Awarded to the overall winner of the Piano Solo, 12 years and under
The Muriel Wallis Award Awarded 'to encourage young singers'.
The Jane Cosford Memorial Award Awarded for the most outstanding performance 'Songs from the Shows'.
The Lawn Trust Cash Prize Awarded to aid further tuition of the two most promising competitors aged 14 - 18 years from Kettering and District, one to be selected from the instrumental classes and one from the vocal classes.
The Haydn Sail Award Awarded to the most promising vocal soloist, 10 years and under.
The Meikle Baird Award Awarded to the most promising competitor in Vocal classes under 21yrs.
The Spinning Wheel Award Awarded to the Best of Class in piano classes 14 yrs & under.
The Montagu Girls' Choir Trophy and Award Awarded for the most promising local competitor in the vocal section. (14 - 21 years inclusive)
The Market Harborough Building Society Award Awarded to the best competitors in Instrumental Ensemble classes.
The Kenneth Fletcher Award Awarded for the most outstanding performance in Senior Vocal classes.
Josef's Piano Award Awarded for the most outstanding performance in Senior Piano classes
